Happy September!!

I LOVE a new month, new goals, and changing things up.

I had the download yesterday to create a new morning routine that I'm going to really commit to for the next 30 days. I love checklists, and having a routine that makes me feel high vibe and powerful!

This is a variation of above, and what I'm committing to for the next 30 days. I'm calling it my "Millionaire Mindset Morning Routine".

Wake up and have an ICE COLD SHOWER! This is something I learned from Tony Robbins, and a friend recently starting doing it and raving about it and totally inspired me to commit all in. 

The benefits of getting cold are endless! (Below is taken from Wim Hof's Website)

Reduced stress levels. Regularly taking cold showers imposes a small amount of stress on your body, which leads to a process called hardening. This means that your nervous system gradually gets used to handling moderate levels of stress. The hardening process helps you to stay cool if you find yourself in a stressful situation.

Higher level of alertness. Cold showers wake your body up, inducing a higher state of alertness. The cold also stimulates you to take deeper breaths, decreasing the level of CO2 throughout the body, helping you concentrate. Cold showers thus keep you ready and focused throughout the day.

More robust immune response. Scientific studies have found that taking a cold shower increases the amount of white blood cells in your body. These blood cells protect your body against diseases. Researchers believe that this process is related to an increased metabolic rate, which stimulates the immune response. 

Increased willpower. It takes a strong mind to endure the cold for extended periods of time. By incorporating cold showers into your daily routine, you are strengthening your willpower, which benefits many aspects of (your) daily life.

Weight loss. Research has shown that cold showers (and exposure to cold in general), in addition to increasing metabolic rate directly, stimulate the generation of brown fat. Brown fat is a specific type of fat tissue that in turn generates energy by burning calories. Cold showers, then, are an effective tool for people who are looking to lose a few pounds.

The reason I'm doing it, is for the challenge and the alertness factor! I love a good challenge. 

Here's the easiest way I've found (thanks Amy for these tips!):
Start with lukewarm/cold water (going from hot to cold is way too tough)
Get some music going and sing along (singing or humming along will activate the vagus and naturally tap into the parasympathetic nervous system which is calming)
BREATHE DEEPLY (and dance around to the song).

I also time myself and am doing 2-5 minutes every morning at the coldest setting! (I started with 30 seconds but it gets easier really quick, especially with the above tips. Once your body adjusts, you can stay in there forever! Trevor did 10 minutes the other day!).

Then, I get out of the shower (no hot water- this increases the benefits on your body).

And do my morning mantra and pep talk in the mirror- looking myself in the eye! This is SO POWERFUL for activating the subconscious mind, and will supercharge your results! I repeat my mantra at least three times with feeling and conviction. Then I go into a little pep talk- telling myself the things I really need to hear like "You are fucking beautiful, and smart and you are doing such great things in this world and you should be so proud of what you put out there... etc". I really do it with emotion and pump myself UP!!!

Then, grab my journal- write out my mantra 10x and feel into it as if it were already done which feels so good. I pretend I have a magic pen and everything I write comes true! haha. 

Then, scripting. A quick paragraph or two as if my goals are complete and I'm celebrating, saying how fun and easy it was, and again- tapping into the feelings. The feelings are everything!

Then I write out my goal, why I want it- and work through any limiting beliefs if they come up! I always use the same process for this- is there any funky feelings? What comes up? Write it down. Ask yourself "is this 100% true?" (it never is) and then I start writing what I wish to be true and what feels like a better feeling thought until I feel like I've successfully crushed that belief! If I'm feel super stuck, I'll do some EFT Tapping on it. 

And then, a 3-5 minute Visualization- getting int the vibration and feeling of achieving my goals!

Then, 5-10 minutes of reading an inspirational book- right now it's "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker.

I like to take my time, but you could definitely do all that in 15-20 minutes if you are being super efficient! I think it took me 35 minutes today.
